„HOW TO TRUST"

 

PERFORMANCE: 40 MINUTES,

HERRMANNPLATZ, BERLIN

In this performance, I ask myself how to trust.
I am sitting on a public bench on Herrmannplatz in Berlin, Neukölln, wearing a blindfold and earplugs so that I can neither hear nor see. Next to me on the bench I have a sign that says "I don't hear anything and i don't see anything. I trust you.".
The only documentation of this performance is the sign and my description of the experience, written directly after the performance, at the location of the performance.

In this performance I go to a cemetery alone at night to ask myself how to "memento mori". I put a white fabric on the floor and lie on it. Then I record what I perceive and feel.
The sound recording and the imprint of my body on the fabric are the only documentations of this performance.

„HOW TO LOVE ONESELF"

In the video "How to love oneself" I am sitting on my bed, looking in a hand mirror and sing a love song to myself. It is the recording of one of the self-love sessions that I did for 20 days.
I'm asking how to love oneself.

 

„HOW TO 'TAKE CARE'"

In the performance "How to 'take care'" I stand in front of a crosswalk, holding my head, looking left and right as if I want to cross the street, but never cross it.
I wonder what "take care of yourself" means.

In the performance "Listen to your heart" I sit on a surface made of clay, put a stethoscope on and hold the chest piece on my heart. As I listen to my heartbeat, I press with the palms of my hands to the rhythm of my heart.
The clay object is the only documentation of performance.

Pastel on paper, 120x60 cm

In the performance "Your breath is your anchor" I sit on paper and paint it around me with pastel chalk. Then I breathe consciously, blurring the chalk with my hands in sync with my breath by moving back and forth.
The drawing is the only documentation of the performance.

 

„I AM VULNERABLE - THEREFORE I AM.

I AM VULNERABLE, IN THAT I INDULGE."

In the performance "I am vulnerable - therefore I am. I am vulnerable, in that I indulge." I write the sentence "I am vulnerable - therefore I am" my interpretation of Descarte's sentence "I think - therefore I am", with my hand on the wall of the foyer of the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee until the wall is full and my finger is bleeding.
