STATEMENT

My work deals with fundamental philosophical questions of being: the subject in the world and its transience ...

What does the time I have in this world mean?

The traces we leave behind...

I build on the basic human need to be understood and the ability to actually find oneself in the other - from my individual subjectivity to general humanity.

And underlying everything: the drive to decipher oneself, the enigma of one‘s own presence.

Ambivalence: contradictions, struggles

Expectations, duties, role models, gender questions: facets of identity - simultaneity.

Metaphors, images: ironies of human existence.

What does it mean to be human? - To have a body - to have feelings,

Nnowing nothing, always seeking

Striving.

My artistic practice is deeply rooted in the formative influences of my mother, an interdisciplinary artist, through whom I have always been surrounded by a creative atmosphere. The constant contact with a wide variety of artists and the diverse consumption of art, accompanied by philosophical and political discussions have shaped my thinking and my approach to art. Equally important was the influence of my godmother and foster mother, a psychiatrist, who inspired me early on with the complexity of the human psyche. My interest in psychological topics led me to complete my high school diploma with a focus on psychology and to do an internship at the psychosomatic day clinic of the Martha-Maria Hospital in Nürnberg in 2022, which has enriched me and my work in the long term.

Since childhood, various forms of artistic expression have been central medias for me to process experiences and structure emotions, as well as to gain insight and generate knowledge - and above all: to express. I believe it is not only a fundamental human need to understand oneself, but also to express oneself, to communicate: to share oneself with others and thus to connect.

As a multidisciplinary artist with an interdisciplinary approach, the exchange with others is an essential part of my work. Conversations and reflections are the basis of my artistic practice, which is why dialog with my fellow human beings and colleagues is of the utmost importance to me.

With my work, I want to reach a broad target group and enable access to philosophy and psychology through art for all levels of society. The public presentation of my work should help to open up different perspectives on human life and promote imagination and understanding for one another.
